Requirements
Your Pathway to Certification
To obtain the CML certificate, you need to meet the following requirements:
1. Passing the CML exam (passing scope is 70%)
2. Demonstrating 3 years of work experience in one of the relevant work experiences
3. Demonstrating 2 years of volunteering
4. Demonstrating the required educational background
5. Agree to NACIM Code of Ethics
CML Exam
The Certified Management Leader exam covers the following domains:
Basic Islamic Knowledge
Parliamentary procedure such as Roberts Rules of order
Masjid Operational Management Framework. Check the two books below

Professional Work Experience
Combined 3 years of experience in one of the following fields:
- Experience at a strategy consulting firm such as McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Bain & Company.
- Experience at an accounting or management consulting firm, such as PWC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, or a smaller accounting or management consulting firm.
- Experience in internal or external audits.
- Experience in information technology, IT audit, and risk management.
- Experience in nonprofit organizations and non-profit management.
- Experience in management, legal, and compliance.
- Experience in organization management frameworks, ISO compliance, or other frameworks.
Volunteering Experience
Combined 3 years of volunteering experience in one of the following areas:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting religious community programs, organizing faith-based charity events, and providing spiritual counseling to diverse groups.
- Proven expertise in community development initiatives, including humanitarian aid, disaster relief efforts, refugee assistance programs, and food distribution to underserved populations.
- Years of regularly attending different Masjids with different management styles, maturity, and community structures.
Educational background
Diploma or bachelor's degree in any field of study (minimum of 2 years degree)
1-year waiver of professional experience for a master’s or doctorate degree in any field of study
